This guidance and procedures were agreed by the Coventry Safeguarding Children Board on 13 September 2012.
The 'EHAC' will provide enhanced support to school staff enabling them to feel confident to intervene and work alongside families even earlier leading to better, more sustainable outcomes and children engaging positively in their education.

Meetings are an integral part of the local authority Early Help Strategy, supporting children and families at the earliest onset of a problem emerging. In bringing together the Local Authority and schools through regular planned meetings, the focus will be to jointly identify those children in need of early help.
The governing bodies, management committees or proprietors of the following schools have duties in relation to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils:
Partner agencies requested that there was a way of them recording the work that they are doing on the system without having to complete an assessment. many of them are carrying out some very detailed work with families which is being captured on their own systems.
We were tasked to find a way of this being on EHM so that other professionals working with a family could see this and make contact with them for further information.
Guidance has now been produced for agencies to be able to log that they are offering support to the family along with their name and contact details enabling professionals to contact each other and gather further information and build a picture when working with families.
