Local authorities are being asked to join up and deliver services across what was normally considered organisational boundaries, there is a corresponding need to expand the Local Government Services List to encompass these new processes. The LGSL is a standardised controlled list recognised by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister as the standard measure of council services for Implementing Electronic Government (IEG) reporting.
