Longford Park

This is the largest park in the north of the city has had over £300,000 invested in its infrastructure and facilities over the past four years. This money has provided a new or revised entrances, footpaths and environmental improvements now enjoyed by many more park users. Local people, the "Friends" group and Longford CAN have all been actively involved in how this money was spent. Further funding of approximately £110,000 has been allocated to the park and discussions on how this could be spent will commence shortly.The park has again been submitted for a Green Flag Award, this is a nationally recognised award given to parks that, when assessed, meet or exceed some eight criteria set by the Awards Body. Initially a management plan is developed and submitted in January with a site-based assessment, including representatives from the above groups, taking place in May. Longford Nature Park
This park, which is opposite Longford Park, is a Wildlife Conservation area, and forms the central part of "Longford Corridor", with the River Sowe flowing through wide areas of grass. From the western end of Longford Community Nature Park a path leads down to Coventry Canal, and a route leads to the Sowe Valley Footpath.
