Coventry City Council is committed to supporting people to be as independent and healthy as possible and to enable them to accomplish what they want in life. We achieve this through promoting independence and enablement as well as supporting people to maintain and regain skills.

Providing effective and flexible day opportunities is a key element of the support that is available through the Community Services Directorate to deliver our commitment.
The Council are inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced providers to deliver support under a framework agreement from 2011 to 2015.
This tender is not limited to traditional day centre-based provision. We would like to encourage a range of providers to deliver day opportunities in the city. We would welcome interest from Housing with care schemes, domiciliary care agencies, partnerships, consortiums and existing centres offering additional different services.
Pilot work carried out by the City Council has shown that a range of innovative service models can deliver flexible, outcomes based day opportunities for adults and older people.

As well as meeting the above commitments, the new framework will enable the Council to develop the market to provide personalised and self-directed support that meets the outcomes of our customers. Successful organisations will be contracted to provide a range of flexible support for older people and adults across a range of groups who are eligible for social care including learning disability; physical impairment; sensory impairment and young on set dementia.

Following the pre-tender briefing, organisations wishing to express an interest in tendering for this contract should apply by registering on the etendering system. This can be done through the following web link www.coventry.gov.uk/etendering.
A pre-qualification questionnaire will be available on 22 July 2010 to download and complete. Please note that the tender process will be carried out electronically through this system.

The closing date for return of the pre qualification questionnaire will be 25 August 2010 at 12:00.

Please note that you will need to register an interest on the etendering system even if you have on a previous occasion contacted Coventry City Council to express an interest or if you are an existing provider.

Coventry City Council is to let a framework contract for the provision of flexible day opportunities. We intend to work with Providers to deliver services that promote independence and enablement as well as supporting people to maintain and regain skills.
