Best Bar None Awards 2009
Following the success of Best Bar None in 2008, Coventry is delighted to launch Best Bar None 2009. Best Bar None awards are granted to pubs, clubs and bars doing all they can to cut down on alcohol-related crime and promote responsible drinking.
It's run by the City Council, West Midlands Police and West Midlands Fire Service - working together as part of the Coventry Community Safety Partnership - and aims to establish a standard of excellence within pubs, clubs and bars across all Coventry.
It's free to join and is part of a national scheme - acknowledged by the Home Office as best practice - that is becoming increasingly recognised by the public and the trade alike.
The biggest winners in Best Bar None will be visitors to Coventry, who'll be able to reap the rewards of a night-time economy that is more welcoming, attractive, lively and above all - safe.
What's in it for me?
Achieving the Best Bar None standard gives you the chance to shout about your commitment to social responsibility and the lengths you've gone to promoting the safety of people using your premises.
We've linked up with the Godiva Awards, the regions leading event recognising businesses with creativity, flair, ingenuity and commitment.
Every Best Bar None venue will be in with the chance to become the City's best-managed pub, club or bar. The highest scoring venue will be presented with a specially cast Godiva statue at the glittering awards ceremony.
Plus ...
By taking part you'll effectively get a free 'health check' on the way you manage your venue and have the chance to find out what others are doing to promote safety in the licensed trade.
And by being able to prove you are doing all you can to protect your customers, you may also be able to reduce your insurance premiums!
