Neighbourhood Management Policy and Support team
The Head of Neighbourhood Management, employed by Coventry City Council, is responsible for the whole function and also heads up the Policy and Support Team.
The Policy & Support Team provides direct support to the Head of Service, and co-ordination and guidance to the three area teams and the Warden team.
In 2006 the team was nominated for the first ever "Team of the Year" award by the City Council for their tireless efforts in pulling together the newly formed Ward Forums. Although not the winner on the night, the team reached the finals and were presented with a certificate by Lord Mayor at the Awards Ceremony in December at the Ricoh Arena. The occasion was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and was a fitting end to a productive year.
In 2007 the team was heavily involved in the Your Neighbourhood Matters Programme when management for this externally funded approach transferred from The Coventry Partnership to the service. This involved co-ordinating the activities of all partners involved in the six target neighbourhoods (Spon End, Hillfields, Stoke Aldermoor, Willenhall/Willenhall Wood, Bell Green, Edgwick/Paradise) and appointing a Programme Manager.
In 2008 the team was instrumental in setting up arrangements to take forward the ten year strategy "Supporting Community Groups, Neighbourhoods and Community Cohesion". This involved establishing a Steering Group of key officers and recruiting to the new Community Organisations Support Team (now based at Stoke Aldermoor).
