Council departments / directorates
Coventry City Council is the biggest organisation in Coventry. Its 16,000 employees are headed by a Chief Executive, who manages the day-to-day running of the council, and who works alongside a Management Board of a further nine senior officers each with his or her particular portfolio.
The Chief Executive has the task of ensuring that decisions made by councillors are put into effect and that all services are run efficiently and effectively. Management Board work together and closely with councillors so that the cost of services is kept to a minimum and the quality of services is improving.
