Scrutiny Board Reviews

Scrutiny Boards are involved in a variety of tasks; they monitor the performance of the Council in specified areas, they scrutinise new proposals to develop Council services and they investigate issues that are of concern to the councillors who make up the Boards.

From time-to-time they also instigate Scrutiny Reviews. These occur when councillors want to look in depth at a particular issue, over a number of meetings. Scrutiny Reviews take evidence from Council officers and a variety of stakeholders, and then produce a Final Report. This includes councillors recommendations and the evidence gathered to support them. These recommendations are submitted either to Cabinet or to individual Cabinet Member meetings where if adopted they become Council policy.

Elsewhere on this page you will find links to the final reports of completed reviews, and shortly we hope to introduce links to the current reviews so that Coventry citizens can get more involved in the Reviews on-line.
