Building Schools for the Future in Coventry
Coventry's BSF programme
Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is a government programme that will transform education in secondary and secondary special schools across the country by investing large amounts of money into buildings and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
But it is far more than just a building programme however, as it provides Coventry with the opportunity to transform the way secondary schools function by developing buildings for the 21st Century with teaching and learning to match.
It will provide every secondary and secondary special school with facilities fit to deliver the curriculum and meet the wider needs of the students and the local community.
The BSF programme so far
The government has put £45 billion into the programme and divided it up nationally into a number of waves. Coventry is in Wave 4 and has been allocated around £325m for buildings and £30m for ICT.
With this money, we aim to remodel, refurbish or rebuild all of our secondary and secondary special schools.
Getting involved
We want to hear your views and make sure you feel engaged in the process of BSF in Coventry.
We will be holding a number of consultation events with people, including the general public, plus those people who will be directly affected by one or more of our school projects.
Recent consultation meetings have focused on the eight new schools that will be built across the city as well as the four design and build schools in Phase One of Coventry's BSF project.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please get in touch with us.
