Learning and Behaviour Support Service (Primary)
The Learning and Behaviour Support Service (Primary) are a team of specialist teachers and teaching assistants who provide learning and behaviour support to mainstream schools for pupils who are experiencing difficulties.
We have knowledge and experience of:
- Things that may affect learning and behaviour
- The special support, usually involving school, parents/carers and ourselves, that is likely to improve learning and behaviour.
We all have significant training and experience in this specialist field.
What do we do?
We work with children, teachers, parents/carers and the local education authority to promote children's learning and behaviour by:
- Assessment of learning and/or behaviour difficulties
- Provision of advice to schools and parents/carers on special methods, approaches and resources
- Provision of specialist teaching directly to individual children or groups of children.
How do we do it?
When we become involved we usually:
- Talk with your child's teachers
- Talk with other school staff involved
- Talk with other people involved with your child (eg teaching assistant, social worker).
This will help enable us to work together with your child and the teachers to improve your child's learning and behaviour.
What other specialist help is available?

The other services are:
