CYC events

We have many events, conference and parties. Follow the links on the right of this page to see some pictures from these events.

Events that the CYC are involved in:

Foleshill Festival

The Foleshill Festival on 17th June 2006 was attended by CYC Members. It was another opportunity for members to publicise the work of the CYC and what we do. It is also an example of how the CYC works in all areas of the city.

I'm a councillor get me out of here

Young people were invited to ask questions to Coventry councillors and hear their reposnses. Young people were then able to vote for which Councillor answered their questions the best and the young people liked. In 2005, Councillor Dave Chater won the event and Coventry was judged by Local Democracy Week to have had the second best participation in the country.

Anti-bullying conference

Last November, three youth council members attended an anti-bullying conference, organised by Common Purpose at the Village hotel. We gave a presentation and facilitated a workshop to raise awareness about bullying. It was a really fun day and we got to meet loads of great people.

Hope Centre event

One of our aims is to reach out into the community, so the youth council decided to hold an event at the Hope Centre in Hillfields. Instead of a meeting, we socialised together and enjoyed free food.
