Children's library service
Libraries are for everyone... You're never too young to join and it's free!
Coventry Libraries and Information Services offer a wide range of services for children and young people from the latest books to read to help with homework. All libraries have collections of books for children from board books and picture books for the very young to books for teenagers and graphic novels.

Team Read
| Team Read is coming to a library near you from Saturday 19 July. Please visit our Team Read page for more information |

For more information and pictures of the event visit our Rick Riordan page.
There are all sorts of books in the library:
- books for babies
- adventure stories
- funny stories
- information books
- books for mums and dads
- ...and lots more.
Libraries also offer homework collections of books and access to computers to help with homework needs.
Online access to "Britannica Junior for ages 5 to 11" and "Britannica Student for ages 12 to 18" using your library ticket, visit our page for how to do this.
Visits from school classes and playgroups are also welcomed.
You can borrow up to eight books, and keep them for up to four weeks. Bring them back on or before the date stamped in the book. You can have your books stamped again if nobody else wants them. If you are under eight you won't have to pay fines if the books are returned to the library late - but don't forget other people may want to read them.
CDs are also available - you have to pay to borrow these except for story tapes for children, which are free.
Some libraries have computers in their children's
sections on which you can book time in 30 minute slots of up to one hour. All libraries have computer learning facilities
that children can use. Children can also access the Internet subject to signed permission from a parent or carer and other
safeguards. Computer sessions can be booked by asking at the library
or telephoning. OR You can book a computer online. To do this you need to have your library
ticket number, which you will find on the barcode and your PIN number.
If you do not have a PIN number staff at your
local library will provide you
with one in person or by post. You can change your PIN number if you wish either by asking in the library or via the library
catalogue.
Your PIN number is for your security. Please do not tell it to anyone else, as they will be able to get access
to your library details.
Printouts cost 14p for black and white and 60p for colour per sheet.
Activities take place throughout the year - usually around school holiday times. Look out for storytimes, crafts, arts workshops, quizzes and competitions.
