Arts Development
Coventry City Council's Arts Development Service is committed to the principles outlined in the Strategic Arts Policy 2004 to 2010, and the work of the service is designed to enable delivery of the priorities outlined in the policy.
Advice and Support - the Arts Development Officer provides advice and support relating to creative practice and projects. Where specialist knowledge is required, clients are signposted to appropriate organisation and support schemes.
The Arts Development Officer administers Coventry City Council's Small
Arts Grant Scheme and the Artspages database, a
searchable database of artists and creative practitioners in the area.
The Arts Development Officer is also involved
in policy development and implementation in a number of areas, although the level of involvement varies depending on requirements
and capacity.
The Arts Development Service is also a key member of the Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Sub-regional Arts Partnership. The partnership works "to support Arts Development Services to effectively enable the arts to flourish and enhance the quality of life across the sub-region". Projects to date have included the Dancescape initiative, visual arts and craft professional development and internal advocacy relating to public art.
