Health Inequalities Service
Health Inequalities is part of the City Council's Health Development Unit. We provide a friendly and supportive service that recognises and reflects the diversity of the city to improve the health and well being of the people of Coventry.
The Health Inequalities team works closely in partnership with other agencies and local communities, particularly in neighbourhoods with the greatest need.
Members of our team speak Punjabi, Hindi and Spanish and have access to interpreters in other languages. We can also provide information in other formats on request.
We can help you with a range of issues or concerns. And we are happy to work with groups or to meet with you on a one-to-one basis in your home.
Aims of the Health Inequalities team
- Reducing preventable ill health and early death.
- Focusing on neighbourhoods in Coventry with the highest ill health and need.
- Supporting individuals and community groups to make changes which will help them live longer and healthier lives.
- Protecting young children by helping to prevent dangerous accidents in the home, such as burns and falls.
- Quitting smoking support
- Improving your access to services by giving you appropriate information ad advice.
