Learning Disabilities Partnership Board
The Coventry Learning Disabilities Partnership Board is a group of organisations working together to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities in Coventry.
The work of the LDPB
We have established a real working partnership with people with learning disabilities, carers and all staff and agencies in the city so that:
People with learning disabilities are:
- Encouraged to make real choices and decisions about where and how they live their lives
- Enabled to lead full and purposeful lives in their communities and to develop a range of friendships, activities, relationships and employment
- Carers are recognised and supported in their role and:
- Receive support for as long as they and the service user wish
- Enabled to take part in person centred planning
Services support people to get the kind of life they want for themselves and are:
- Good quality, cost effective and support people
- Regularly evaluated and continually improved
- Delivered locally as a matter of course
What do the LDPB do?
We meet every month and have people with learning disabilities and family carers on the Board as active members.
As a partnership we have developed a local Learning Disabilities Strategy 2007-2010. Follow the link to download a copy of the most recent version of the strategy.
In January 2008 we held a wide consultation event to find out what progress people feel has been made with the Learning Disabilities Strategy. Follow the link to download a copy of the Progress Report.
