Residents' Parking Schemes

Coventry City Council has created a number of Residents' Parking Schemes. These schemes are designed to protect on-street parking spaces outside peoples houses, in areas where parking facilities are limited, and problems are caused as a result of parking by commuters and shoppers, etc.

Residents' Parking Schemes currently in operation:

  • The Butts Area (24hrs)
  • Walsgrave (24hrs)
  • Middlesborough Road (24hrs)
  • St. Patricks Road (24hrs)

A new scheme is being introduced to protect residents parking in the vicinity of the Ricoh Arena on major event days.

Parking in a residents parking area when it is in operation without a valid permit is not allowed and you are likely to get a parking ticket for information go to the Think B 4 U Park pages.

If you do have a parking permit you should be aware that this does not guarantee you a place to park your vehicle, it only gives you permission to do so, in the appropriate area, if space is available.

Ricoh Arena Residents' Parking Scheme

The Ricoh Arena Residents' Parking Scheme will only come into effect on major event days, where audiences are anticipated to be 10,000 people or more.

In order to reduce traffic congestion in the area, Arena Coventry Ltd, the company that is responsible for operating the Arena, will be encouraging visitors to use public transport rather than driving to the stadium.

The dates and times of the next 'event day' will be displayed on signs at the entrances to all the Arena parking zones.
