- Corridor 8 - Tile Hill Lane (and Spon End)
PrimeLines works along Tile Hill Lane
The Tile Hill Lane (B4101) is a major corridor linking the City Centre with various areas of Coventry such as Spon End, Earlsdon, Whoberley, Mount Nod, Eastern Green and Tile Hill. It also connects the City Centre with the A45 and is the most direct route to Balsall Common.
The Tile Hill Lane Corridor is a Bus Showcase scheme under the PrimeLines Brand but not the PrimeLines Project and therefore, the PrimeLines Project deadline of March 2008 does not apply to this corridor. The four PrimeLines corridors which have this deadline for completion are Corridor 1 - Foleshill Road, Corridor 3 - Ansty Road, Corridor 5 - Willenhall and Corridor 7 - University.
The main services that run along the corridor are the 32 and 33 ran by Travel Coventry. The 1, 10, 12, 19, 34 and 81 ran by Travel Coventry, the 192 and 194 ran by Travel West Midlands and the 43 ran by Travel DeCourcey.

PrimeLines works on the Tile Hill Lane corridor:
Works have been completed on Tile Hill Lane. The bus stops have all been upgraded to PrimeLines standard along this route to enable the introduction of Real Time Passenger Information. In addition, where possible, we have installed bus priority such as bus lanes and bus gates. We have also constructed additional parking and loading bays to assist local traders and residents. We have assisted in some landscaping schemes to improve the image of the area.
You can find out more on what has happened along specific areas of Tile Hill Lane and who to contact if you have any queries.
Tile Hill Lane's PrimeLines' works have been split into seven sections. To find out more, click on their related links.
8.1 Croft Road (and IKEA) - Corporation Street to Ring Road Junction 7
PrimeLines' original work on Croft Road has been recently revised in accordance with the opening of the new IKEA development.
PrimeLines have also upgraded all the bus stops to PrimeLines standard.
8.2 Spon End (and The Butts) - Ring Road Junction 7 to The Arches Railway Bridge
PrimeLines have constructed an inbound and outbound bus lane. The inbound bus lane runs from Windsor Street through to the Ring Road, and the outbound bus lane runs from the Ring Road to the junction with Albany Road.
A bus gate was originally constructed before the traffic signal junction with Albany Road to allow the buses to merge back in with the traffic. However, the scheme is currently under revision as the traffic flows did not develop as expected. The bus gate has temporarily been disabled and PrimeLines are reviewing what options we have to resolve the issue.
PrimeLines have upgraded all of the bus stops in this section to PrimeLines standard.
8.3 Spon End and Hearsall Lane - The Arches Railway Bridge to Earlsdon Avenue North
PrimeLines have made alterations to the junction of Hearsall Lane with Spon End / Allesley Old Road to ease traffic flow in and out of the city centre.
We have also upgraded the bus stops to PrimeLines standard.
