Work Related Learning; Theatre Production courses Lot 3 WRL for Social Development creative industry (film/theatre) This requires alcohol and drug awareness, gang crime/ influences, Healthy living lifestyles, confidence building, knife crime, teenage pregnancy, protective behaviour, money management, personal development, independent living, employability skills. This course meets every aspect of this criteria by creating small documentary production teams. Within the criteria the documentarians will be shown how to create a production crew, how to research subjects, the best methods for planning, costing and marketing their production. The subject matter will be directed in a positive and enlightened manner to encourage investigation, research and collaboration. Statistical analysis will be engaged but so will channelled and directed emotional engagement. Each documentary team will be shown how to create, produce and deliver a finished short (5-10 minutes) documentary style production. No major additional costs will be created since this work will all be accomplished with smart phones, laptops and free to access software plus a professional expert. Current specifics; all the course lot numbers we provide will be virtually taught, by experts in film, media and education due to COVID-19 restrictions online on Zoom min 6 – max 15 per group The students/learners targeted for engagement will be those severely educationally and behaviourally challenged at risk of becoming NEET not engaged with the mainstream education system The courses will run in modular form, being progressive (continual assessment), with each module being an individual lesson in itself. In this way students will be able to continue the course even if they miss weeks/modules. Modulated learning allows the students to achieve understanding of the production process. They will understand the modules that they've completed and be aware of those missed. Each module, covering one specific aspect of film production, will run for 1 week (2 sessions of 3 hours per session = 6 hours total). The courses will run for in half term blocks (5 weeks), teaching one module per week, totalling 5 modules per course. There will be one course enrolment/sign up at the beginning of each half term period. NB precedence for sign up will be given to previous students who have already completed courses. Taster sessions will be offered at the end of each half term, to stimulate enrolment for the course at the beginning of the next half term. We will break down 'achievements' into small, modular nuggets, resulting in a Stars list. Eg understanding writing a script module- a student task to create an outline or treatment sometimes known as a synopsis for a theatre script = stars awarded for working out a three act structure under supervision. This enables students with severe learning limitations to still achieve, as it allows the course leaders to reward ALL learning and achievements and to enrich/further develop specific aspects of individual modules where it will be of benefit to the learner/s.

Structure and development of the course; the course leaders will present the initial/starter story idea at the beginning of the academic year each half term (5 week) course will focus on and develop the next scene in the story/script theatre production, picking up the baton from the previous half term's group, further developing the story and the characters where students choose to continue and register for the next half term, they'll be encouraged to develop managing, directing and mentoring skills (mentors to help the newcomers) at the end of the academic year the entire theatre production of 6 scenes will have been created the full process including all scenes will be filmed, so that at the end of the year the production can be shown as a 'premier' by participating schools. 2 modules per week
