The Spon Spun festival is held once a year during Heritage Open Days.
This year on Saturday 8 September it will feature a new heritage tour devised by nationally renowned local arts organisation 'Talking Birds' as part of the city's Great Places project. Another Coventry based arts and heritage group 'The Photo Archive Miners' will also be running a project developed with the community and using archived photographs of the area.
An art trail will be launched on Saturday 15 September taking in outdoor spaces and many of the heritage and community venues on the route including: The Weavers House, The Albany Theatre, Koco Works, the Broomfield archaeological dig, Holyhead studios, St John's Church and the Watch Museum. The trail will feature music, theatre, artwork and a wide variety of artists. A children's activity sheet will be available for the art trail.
The hub of the art trail will be outside Oasis Community Cafe in Upper Spon Street.
No booking required.
Most venues on the trail have wheelchair access. Car parking is available in the area but only some of the venues have their own car parks. Please check individual sites for details.
Refreshments are available at Oasis Community Cafe.
