Childminding FAQs

Q: What is a registered childminder?

Q: How do I become registered?

Answer:

To become registered first you will need to attend a pre-registration briefing which is held by the local authority where you will find out more about becoming a Childminder.  To find out when the next session is being held contact the Family Information Service, Central Library, Smithford Way, Coventry, telephone number  024 7683 4373, or e-mail coventrycis@coventry.go.uk.

Following the briefing session a member of the Childminding Support Team will visit your home to carry out a home safety check.  Once the Childminding Support Team are satisfied your home meets the Welfare Requirements of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage and the training below has been undertaken, you will receive your Ofsted application pack which when complete will start your registration process with Ofsted.
