The test is taken as part of any application for British citizenship or settlement in the UK.

To book your Life in the UK test you will need to visit

What you will need to create an account:

  • Your name
  • Your email address (you must remember this)
  • Your library card number (you must remember this)
  • A password (you must remember this)
  • Your postcode

What you will need to login:

  • Your email address
  • Your library card number
  • Your password

This information must match the information you provided when you created your account.

Frequently asked questions

I am trying to log in but have forgotten my email address?

You will need to create a new account with a new library card number to access this e-resource. You will lose all of your progress on the system. You will need to report your library card lost or stolen to get a new library card number and you will be charged a replacement fee.

I am trying to log in but have forgotten my library card number?

You will need to visit your local library with identification and proof of address (i.e. driving licence, utility bill) so we can look you up and provide you with your library card number. 

I am trying to log in but have forgotten my password?

Use the forgotten password form on their website to request a new password to be sent to the email address you signed up with.
