Getting started

Before you begin any work you should find out some information about your house:

• Do you live in a Conservation Area?
• Is your house a listed building?
• Was your house constructed after 1963? (In most cases some permitted development rights have been removed).
• Is your home an apartment, flat or maisonette (this type of property does not benefit from permitted development and most work will require consent)

If you do not know the answers to the above questions or, have answered yes to any of them  then contact the Planning Advisory Desk or complete the Pre application enquiry form, giving details of your address and what you are proposing to do.  Alternatively use our online map.
