Over 12,000 homes are covered by the Ricoh Arena Residents’ Parking Scheme. It aims to make sure there are no parking problems on major event days, where more than 10,000 people are expected at the Arena.

To help avoid traffic problems, Arena Coventry Ltd will be encouraging visitors to use public transport instead of driving to the stadium.

The Ricoh Arena Residents' Parking Scheme area is divided into seven zones, AA, AB, AC, AD, AE, AF and AG. The dates and times of the next 'event day' will be displayed on signs at the entrances to all the Arena parking zones.

Apply for a virtual permit

From 1 April 2015, the Ricoh Arena Residents' Permit Scheme became Coventry's first virtual permit scheme. Known as MiPermit, the virtual scheme is paperless and operates in a similar way to the new car tax system.

In order to apply for a virtual permit, residents will need to either:

In order to complete the registration, residents will need the following information:

  • Council Tax reference number
  • Full postal address including postcode
  • Vehicle registration number.

Please be aware that only residents that live within one of the 7 parking zones, and their visitors, are allowed to park within the parking zones on match and event days. These vehicles will need a virtual permit to show they are allowed to park there.

If you need to register a visitor outside of the MiPermit opening hours, please call 024 7683 4367.

Parking within the residents' parking zone on a major event day

  • If you wish to park in the area on a major event day then you must make sure that your vehicle has a valid virtual permit.
  • You do not have to have a virtual permit if you are parked on your own drive.
  • A permit does not allow you to park on yellow lines during their time of operation.
  • A permit cannot guarantee a parking space but it will give you permission to park in your zone without being ticketed on a major event day.
