Computer help sessions in libraries

Computer help sessions are a great place to learn computer basics including using a computer, browsing the web, sending an email and finding work online. Computer help sessions use Learn My Way which is full of free, useful online modules and courses for beginners, helping you develop digital skills to make the most of the online world. It's quick and easy to sign up and you can access the website from anywhere!

Booking may be required at some of our libraries, specifically if you would like to follow the Learn My Way modules from start to finish. If you need some quick tips with emails, Facebook and shopping online, then drop in to a session at any other library.

Our friendly staff will be on hand to help you set up an account and answer questions you may have.

Get Free IT help on any subject at Central Library, you can also choose on a date and time that suits you! 

How can I make an appointment?

In person, at Central Library

  • Approach a member of Library staff
  • Give them your name, contact details, your availability and the subject you need help with. E.g. "help with a tablet" or "help with Facebook"
  • A member of staff will then pair you with a Gen2Gen student volunteer. The member of staff will contact you to confirm your appointment at Central Library.

 Please note this process can take up to 7 days.

These sessions are only available during Coventry University's term time.

WEA courses

Using computers for beginners

"Do you want to use a computer but don't know where to start? Come and join the digital age with us! You will learn how to use a computer including how to log on and use a mouse, typing short texts into Microsoft word and changing text."

Skills for work

"Are you looking for work but would like some help to get that job you really. A chance to prepare for employment. You will practice completing application forms accurately, writing a cover letter and preparing a full CV. You will learn some techniques for Successful interviews too. English must be above entry level 2"
