Small and medium sized businesses in Coventry & Warwickshire can benefit from grants worth up to £3,000 towards a new gigabit capable broadband connection as part of the £67 million Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme announced by Government in March 2018. Residents can also benefit up to £500 if they are part of a group project involving businesses.
Full fibre networks are the future and getting ready for a gigabit speed is a key step for most businesses. Demand for greater and greater digital connectivity is set to accelerate in future years, and full fibre connections will be able to support that demand.
The many benefits of a full fibre gigabit connection include:
Businesses can access the scheme through a registered supplier and because Coventry & Warwickshire was one of four areas that ran the initial pilot scheme from November 2017 to March 2018 there are already plenty of suppliers to choose from.
To see if your business could benefit from the scheme the first step is to find a registered supplier.
There is no application process to complete, if a registered supplier can provide a gigabit capable connection to your business premises they will offer the voucher as a discount towards the installation costs. You can boost your voucher value by joining together with other businesses and residential customers. Once you have a group of other users in your area your supplier may be able to pool your vouchers together to subsidise the cost of installing a connection.
More details about the scheme can be found on the main web pages for the scheme.
