Improvements at War Memorial Park

War Memorial Park BIG and Heritage Lottery Fund Project

A total of 28 projects have been carried out thanks to £2.8 million funding from the BIG and Heritage Lottery Funds from the Parks for People programme.

The completed projects include:

  • Extension and resurfacing of Leamington Road car park
  • Restoration of main gates
  • Stone-blasting cleaning of all four pavilions and the War Memorial
  • New steps around the war Memorial and installation of ramp access
  • Building of new visitor centre
  • Refurbishment of café in the Tennis Pavilion
  • Refurbishment of toilets in the Tennis Pavilion
  • Improved path surfaces
  • Refurbished tennis courts
  • Various planting works
  • New adventure/active play area
  • New seating
  • Improved sports pitches and drainage
