The closing date for applications is Tuesday 31 October 2017. Any forms received after this date are "late" and will only be considered in the second allocation round in April 2018. Late applicants will therefore find it more difficult to get a school place of their choice.
We aim to make sure that you have the best chance of securing a place at the school of your choice. In 2017, we managed to offer 80.6% of children their first preference. Many schools, however, receive more applications than there are places available.
Each school has developed a set of criteria (see admission policies for entry to Secondary school in 2018/19) which help determine how the available places are allocated. These arrangements must be fair and unbiased, and follow the requirements of the Government's School Admissions Code.
If you are a Coventry resident but your child is attending a school outside of the city (or a private school), you will still need to complete a Coventry common application form.
Please Note: if you are a Coventry resident but want to apply for schools in other Local Authorities e.g. Warwickshire or Solihull, you only have to complete a Coventry application form.
