The closing date for applications is Wednesday 31 October 2018. Any forms received after this date are 'late' and will only be considered in the second allocation round in April 2019. Late applicants will therefore find it more difficult to get a school place of their choice.
We advise that you read the revised policy before making your application.
Following a period of consultation, The Governing Body of Blue Coat CE School have taken the decision to amend the Admissions Policy which affects applications for Year 7 places for September 2019. To view a copy of the policy 2019/20, please see change to school policy 2019
We aim to make sure that you have the best chance of securing a place at the school of your choice. In 2018, we managed to offer 75.1% of children their first preference. Many schools, however, receive more applications than there are places available.
For entry in 2019 we are expecting a higher number of applicants and although some schools have expanded to help meet demand, we are aware that there will be a lot of competition for places again this year.
Each school has developed a set of criteria (see admission policies for entry to Secondary school in 2019/20) which help determine how the available places are allocated. These arrangements must be fair and unbiased, and follow the requirements of the Government's School Admissions Code.
If you are a Coventry resident but your child is attending a school outside of the city (or a private school), you will still need to complete a Coventry common application form.
Please Note: if you are a Coventry resident but want to apply for schools in other Local Authorities e.g. Warwickshire or Solihull, you only have to complete a Coventry application form.
