Coventry Jobs and Growth Strategy

The original Jobs Strategy for the City proved so successful that it achieved all of its targets set out for the period 2011-14. The Jobs and Growth Strategy covering the period 2014-17 is available to download.

A new Jobs and Growth Strategy is being prepared and will be available for download once it has been completed.

Key objectives

  • Secure job opportunities through investment – our aim is for businesses and investors continue to recognise Coventry as the right place for them to invest and grow
  • Help people get jobs - to pursue prosperity so that in Coventry everyone who wants a job will have the opportunity to secure one that matches their skills.
  • Help improve the skills levels of local residents – working with local schools, colleges, universities, training providers and businesses to ensure that people are equipped with the skills that businesses need.

Throughout the strategy, there will be a focus on young people, particularly those not in education, employment or training (NEET) – supporting them with skills development and route ways into work.
