Conditions are improving so unless things change overnight it will be collections as usual on Wednesday. We will also have crews out collecting missed bins from Tuesday. Thanks for your patience.
In Coventry we are proud to be part of the Walk4Life project. Change4Life joined with Walk England and launched the Walk4Life project in September 2010. The aim of this initiative is to encourage people to be more active and to introduce them to the Walk4Life one mile routes. These routes can be found on the website http://www.walk4life.info/. So if you would like a quick 20 minute walk, check out the website to find your nearest one mile route.
Most of the one mile walks will be accessible to the public, however some will be private - the ones on school sites are private. The school route can be half a mile and have Walk4Life waymarkers around the route. Pupils will go twice around to make up their mile. Children from Year 4 and 5 can be walk leader trained to help supervise, support and record children walking at lunch times.
School Travel Plans encourage children to walk to school. This could include schemes such as 'walking buses', buddy systems or designing safe routes to school.
For further information, contact your child's school. You can plan your route by looking at the Coventry section of the Walkit.com website. All Coventry schools are featured on the website.
