Boarding animals licence

Boarding animals licences

You will need a Boarding Establishment licence from the Council for any boarding of a dog or cat whether it is within and kennel/cattery environment or within your own home/premises.

Dog walkers do not require a boarding licence if the company are only offering collection and drop off service from the dogs own home. If the company is going to be offering at any period of time during the day, time spent at the companies premises you will require a licence.

The number of dogs and cats that can be kept will be stated on the licence along with other conditions.

The Council can ask an officer, veterinary surgeon or practitioner to inspect licensed premises.

A summary of the regulation for this licence are available to read.
