Family Learning

Family Learning is about families enjoying learning together.

Children spend 85% of their time with you at home and you, as a parent or carer, are your child's first and most important teacher. Family Learning can help you to gain the skills and knowledge to help your child do well at school or to give your pre-school child a positive start.

Our Family Learning team offers a range of exciting courses which are free and fun. Some are for children and parents to learn together. Others are for parents only, often supported by a free crèche.

If you do not have a Level 2 maths or English qualification (eg GCSE grade C or above), our "Keeping Up with the Children" course will help you to improve your own maths and literacy while learning how your child is taught at school. Parents who join these courses are better able to support their children with their school work. This is a great way to help your children do well at school. You will also be able to get a Maths or English qualification, which is good for you too!
