Early Years and Childcare Service
The government is committed to investing in childcare, early education and also the work/life balance of families so that every child is ensured the very best start in life; this was outlined in 2004 with the 10 year Childcare Strategy Choice for Parents.
It is our belief that every child deserves the best possible start in life and should be supported throughout their early years in order to fulfil their potential.
The experience a child receives in their early years can have a direct impact on how their future life works out. Every child should be brought up in a secure, safe and happy childhood which is important in its own right but also provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.
Parents who choose to use early years services want to know that provision will be made to ensure that their children are safe and are accessing quality early years education and care to help them develop confidence and build a firm foundation for their future.
Our aims
The aim of the Coventry Early Years and Childcare Service is to help young children achieve the five Every Child Matters outcomes of:
- staying safe
- being healthy
- enjoying and achieving
- making a positive contribution
- achieving economic well-being
- supporting communities and families in Coventry (an additional 6th local outcome has been identified for support by Coventry Early Years and Childcare service)
