Coombe Country Park fishery

Coombe Pool Fishery is now closed for the season and will reopen 16 June 2013-14 March 2014.

About the fishery 

Coombe Pool Fishery is a mature estate lake covering 80 acres set in a beautiful 400 acre Country Park, noted for its specimen pike, zander, carp, tench and bream.

You can relax in the stunning surroundings of historic Coombe Country Park while you fish the spectacular lake, which was originally designed as part of the landscape by Capability Brown. The lake is part of the designated Site of Special Scientific Interest which covers the Heronry and protected woodland that line one side of the lake. It is now home to a wealth of wildlife and is an attraction all year round.

Season tickets 

Season tickets are available and can be purchased from the Information Centre within the Visitor Centre from 1 May 2013. Applications forms are available here. Please note you will need two passport photos and a current rod licence in order to purchase a season ticket. Download the rules for the Fishery.

Pre Season Fishery Tour

Why not take advantage of our pre-season fishery tour? This a free tour lead by one of our Estate Officers, take you round the like with information on past season catches and what work we are doing to improve the overall fishing experience.

Fishing for Beginners

We run Fishing for Beginners at Coombe Country Park several times a year. A great session for children who want to learn the basics of fishing and make their very first catch. All equipment and advice is provided.

Matches

Matches are traditionally won with large bags of bream averaging around 70lb taken on the feeder. Increasing amounts of matches are being won with bags of skimmer and roach on the pole. Catches of up to 35lb of small fish are becoming common. Telephone to find out more about matches. The match record is 142lb!

Bookable facilities

There are 140 bookable pegs. 40 pegs can be reserved for booked matches only. Tackle carriers for pegs 1- 40 on public bank are available. Please telephone 024 7645 3720 to book.

Access for All

At Coombe we are committed to Access for All and would appreciate any information from customers that would assist us in the provision of this services. Ample car parking is available close to the pegs, and part of the bank side is accessible to people with disabilities. Arrangements can be made for anglers in wheelchairs to be transported to the pegs, 48 hours notice must be given. Please call 024 7645 3720 to make arrangements.
