Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and in particular protecting them from significant harm is dependent on the effective joint working between agencies and professionals that have different roles and expertise.
The purpose of training for inter-agency work is to help develop and foster the following, in order to achieve better outcomes for children and young people:
Following recommendations from national research and Working Together to Safeguard Children (2010 - 2013 now archived) updated in 2015, all training courses will be evaluated to assess their impact on practice including how they have made a difference to outcomes for children.
All courses will have their own evaluation forms and various courses will be selected each term for a follow-up evaluation after 3 months. This will be done by the participant together with their line manager as part of their professional development and learning.
Certificates please note: when a course is being evaluated certificates will not be given out at the end of the course, they will be sent out on receipt of a completed 3 month evaluation form.
These slides are available for all agencies to use in safeguarding training sessions. They provide key points on safeguarding themes relevant to Coventry. Slides are added to when appropriate and reviewed annually. They can be used as a basic presentation, for refresher sessions or individual slides can be selected for covering specific topics.
