Free early education and childcare is also called FEEE (Free Early Educational Entitlement).
All 3 and 4 year olds in England are entitled to 570 hours of FEEE per year. This is usually taken as a maximum of 15 hours a week over 38 weeks of the year, but can be taken as fewer hours over more weeks in the year if this is offered by the Early Years provider you choose. Some 2 year olds are also eligible for up to 15 hours a week but this would need to be checked first.
There are a number of rules about how the Free Early Educational Entitlement (FEEE) for 2, 3 and 4 year olds can be used.
Early years providers include playgroups/pre-schools, childminders, day care nursery settings and children's centres. They would have to be registered with Ofsted to be able to offer FEEE places.
The Coventry Family Information Service (FIS) holds up to date information on all early years' providers that are registered to provide Early Education Places. They offer free and impartial advice about Early Years and Childcare providers in Coventry.
