Stray dogs
Straying and neglected dogs often form packs, causing great misery to local residents. As most of these dogs are not vaccinated they can contribute to outbreaks of serious canine disease such as Distemper and Parvovirus. They can also cause harassment to owners of properly controlled bitches in season and, in the case of stray bitches, result in many unwanted pregnancies.
The definition of a stray dog is a dog unsupervised in a public place regardless of whether it is wearing a collar and tag.
Stray dogs' gallery
If you have lost your dog please take a look at the dogs in the Stray dogs' gallery to see if it has been taken to Birmingham Dogs' Home. Every week we take any unclaimed dogs in our care to the Dogs' Home where owners have seven days to claim their dog. After the seven days have expired any unclaimed dogs can then be legally rehomed.
If you believe one of the dogs displayed on this page is yours please contact Birmingham Dogs' Home as soon as possible. Please be aware that there will be a fine to pay on collection of the dog to cover any costs that have been incurred whilst in our care.
