The Coventry Adult Education Service is graded good by Ofsted and is the only Listed SELT (Secure English Language Test) course provider in Coventry.
You must pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in speaking and listening for Indefinite Leave to Remain (to settle) or British Citizenship.
The course will prepare you for the following:
Before starting your B1 preparation course you will attend a short interview to assess your current spoken language level. This will help us to determine if you are at a suitable level for the GESE grade 5 test. If you are not at this level you will be referred to one of our ESOL courses to help you improve.
The preparation course is 6 weeks and will be at our main ESOL venue; Harp Place, 2 Sandy Lane, Coventry, CV1 4DX.

Please note you will have to sit the test at an approved SELT test centre. The nearest SELT test centre is Birmingham. Here is a full list of approved SELT test centres.

The 6 week course will cost £200. This includes all resources and online materials. This will also include tutor support to book your SELT test. Please note the course fee does not include the test fee (currently £150). The B1 SELT test is currently valid for 2 years.
