ECO4

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a government energy efficiency scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and help reduce carbon emissions.

Large and medium energy suppliers are required by the government to install a number of energy efficiency measures such as insulation and heating upgrades to support vulnerable, fuel poor and low income households to heat their homes.

Eligibility for ECO is based on receipt of eligible benefits. Local authorities however are able to widen the ECO4 eligibility criteria to enable more vulnerable and low income households, who are not in receipt of benefits, to be eligible for this support. This eligibility route is called ECO Flex and the details of this eligibility route for Coventry residents can be found in our statement of intent.

If you are in installer or resident interested in participating in the ECO4 scheme please visit our ECO4 in Coventry webpages to understand how you can be involved.

Our privacy notice describes how Coventry City Council will use your personal data as part of the ECO Flex scheme.

If you have any queries about ECO4 please contact eco@coventry.gov.uk

It is important to note that eligibility for ECO doesn’t necessarily mean that an energy supplier or installer will decide to install energy efficiency measures in your home. A home survey will be needed to assess your home’s suitability for the scheme.

If you need to, you can also access any previous versions of our Statement of Intent (now superseded).
