Other sources of funding for the arts

Grants for the Arts is Arts Council England's funding scheme for arts activities that engage people in England or that help artists and arts organisations to carry out their work. The scheme defines 'engage' as people being stimulated or inspired by, and getting actively involved with, the arts. This could include attending an arts event, taking part in an arts activity, or creating a work of art. Grants for individuals range from £1,000 to £30,000, and can cover activities lasting up to three years. ACE can award larger grants for more major projects. The average grant to individuals in 2006/07 was £5,825. ACE do not give grants of less than £1,000. http://www.artscouncil.org.uk/
