Coventry Police
Reporting a crime
If there is an emergency, always call 999. For police purposes, an emergency is when:
- There is a danger to life
- There is a risk of serious injury
- A crime is in progress or about to happen
- An offender is still at the scene
The police aim to arrive at emergencies within 10 minutes. If your call is not an emergency, you can contact your local police station via our helpdesk switchboard on 0345 113 5000.
The helpdesk deals with all non-emergency calls. They will assist you by taking details of an incident which needs police attendance (but is not an emergency), provide you with a crime reference number or offer you advice.
