Consultation to begin on Connecting Communities proposals

Published Thursday, 03 December 2015

The first seven of a series of meetings will take place this week to discuss the Council’s Connecting Communities proposals.

The Council has less money than before to spend on services so we are having to make difficult choices.

The proposals have been made to help save £1.2m in 2016/17. The Connecting Communities programme aims to work with communities to help provide support to people in their local area and to see how communities can get involved in running services themselves.

The consultation period lasts from 7 Dec 2015 to 1 Feb 2016 and starts next week with the first of the drop-in sessions for people to hear more about the proposals and give their opinions.
