A series of full overnight road closures on the A45 / Broad Lane junction have been scheduled to begin on Tuesday December 8.
The closures will be in place 7pm to 6am for six nights up to 13 December.
The closures are part of the final stages of the junction improvement work and will mean the resurfacing and lining can be completed.
The whole junction will be closed overnight in all directions. Clearly signed diversions will be in place and access for residents living on the two slip roads on the A45 will be available at all times.
Cllr Rachel Lancaster, Cabinet Member for Public Services said:
“I hope people will bear with us while this well used junction is closed during the evening. We are close to completing this work and opted for full overnight closures to make sure we get it done as quickly as possible. The full closure also means the same diversion route will be in place for all six nights so people will know what to expect.
“Access to the Wing Wah and homes on the A45 slip roads will be available at all times and this will be clearly signed. Pedestrian routes remain the same and we will complete as much of the noisy work as possible by midnight.
“We have tried to time the closures carefully and the fact that we are resurfacing means we are close to finishing our work at this junction. Once it re-opens there should less waiting at peak times.”
While the closure of the junction is in place there will be no access over the A45 between Birmingham and Coventry or across Broad Lane in both directions through the junction.
