The event has seen entry numbers double year on year, and organisers are excited to announce this year’s race has already seen thousands of runners sign up.

Jamie Warren, from organisers, GO2, said: “We recently announced that there were just 500 standard places remaining for this exciting event coming to Coventry, and with the momentum still riding high, there is every possibility that these last few hundred places will sell out fast!

"Runners can still commit to charity spaces after this date, however we will not be able to accept any more standard or club entries.

“We have extremely high expectations that the race is set to be the most memorable in the Coventry series yet! The unique opportunity promises to take you on a special journey that will culminate in crossing that finish line on race day, with a sense of achieving something really special in front of your city.”

The route takes in Coventry city centre, the beautiful surrounding countryside, and a great downhill stretch for the final stages of the run. The race will start and finish in the city centre once again and provides the perfect course profile for runners to find a good rhythm and really get into their stride, the route also encourages lots of support as spectators line the streets to cheer on friends and family.

Cllr Abdul Khan, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure, Sports and Parks, said: “It is fantastic news to hear that the sign-ups have been going well and that the numbers look like beating last year’s figures. We want as many runners and supporters as possible coming to Coventry on race day to spend time in and enjoy our wonderful city.

"It’s going to be a great atmosphere and I encourage any runners who have not yet signed up not to miss out on the opportunity to be part of what promises to be an excellent event.”
