The Priory Visitor Centre stands on the site of Coventry’s first Cathedral.
For hundreds of years, the ruins of this Cathedral, originally founded by Earl Leofric and Lady Godiva, lay hidden. Then, in 1999 as part of the city's Millennium Project the remains of medieval buildings, a stunning 14th century wall painting and relics from nearly 1,000 years of Coventry’s history were uncovered.
The amazing story of Coventry’s first cathedral and some of the historical finds were then preserved in the Priory Undercrofts.
The Council is inviting community groups and organisations to take on the operational management of the Priory Visitor Centre and Undercroft, including maintaining a level of public access. The successful group / organisation will be awarded a three year lease for the management of the Centre and Undercroft.
The deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is Tuesday 31 May. The full evaluation of the submissions will be completed by Tuesday 7 June.
