Celebrate the Queen's birthday at Charterhouse

Published Thursday, 09 June 2016

People are being invited to celebrate the Queen's birthday with a picnic at the Charterhouse in London Road.

The event will be held on Sunday (12 June) from 12noon-4pm and is free.

Go along with your friends and family, take a picnic lunch and a rug and enjoy the gardens, nature trails for children, games and music.

The tea room will also be open, serving a delicious selection of hot drinks and home-made cakes.

The Charterhouse of St Anne, founded in 1381, is a Grade 1 listed building of national and international importance.  The Charterhouse and its precinct wall is all that is left above ground of a former Carthusian monastery founded by Richard II.
