The Council is moving its bank to NatWest Bank

The Council is switching its banking services from HSBC to Nat West as part of ongoing improvements.

Bank change

The change, which starts from Saturday 1 October, may affect people’s payments to the Council.

From 1 December 2016, the Council's HSBC Bank accounts are being closed so customers will be unable to make payments to them.

As a Council it is important reassure anyone who may be affected that this is not a scam and more details explaining the changes are listed on the Council’s website.

The NatWest sort code and account number is indicated below.

Who is affected by the change?

Switching banking services affects all Coventry City Council bank accounts into which payments are made for example Council Tax, Business Rates, Commercial Rents and other debts.

Coventry citizen’s, individuals or businesses who makes payments to the Council, may need to take action, so please take a few minutes to read the details at http://www.coventry.gov.uk/newbank.

If you need to change the bank account information you hold for making payments to the Council, please do this straightaway through your own bank, either online or through a branch.

A good time to switch to Direct Debit payments

Customers who make payments to the Council by direct debit don’t need to do anything. Paying by direct debit is easy.

As well as being a secure and quick way to pay, you never need to worry about remembering to pay your bill again or waste time waiting in queues.
