Vacancy for a Lay Member for Coventry Safeguarding Children Board

Are you passionate about keeping children and young people in Coventry safe?

Coventry Safeguarding Children Board (CSCB) is responsible for ensuring that agencies work together to safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children and young people in Coventry.

CSCB is looking to appoint a Lay Member from April 2017, for a period of 2 years. The Lay Member will support stronger public engagement in child safety issues to improve the safeguarding of children in Coventry, and provide a community oversight and scrutiny of decisions and policies made by the Board. Their main duty will be to attend and contribute to the Board meetings and other sub-groups as appropriate. This is a real opportunity to make a difference to the lives of children in Coventry. Expenses will be reimbursed to cover travel.

You will need to be a confident and effective communicator with the ability to challenge the CSCB and its partner agencies constructively. You will have an awareness of, and commitment to, equality and diversity and will be able to handle confidential information appropriately. Most importantly, you will be committed to improving the safeguarding of children and young people in Coventry.
