Cast and Alabama 3 Acoustic join the Godiva Festival line up

Published Wednesday, 19 April 2017

Liverpudlian rockers Cast and Brixton-born band Alabama 3 Acoustic have joined the Godiva Festival line up for 2017.

Cast, Britpop legends, will be taking to the Main Stage on Friday night as a support act for The Stranglers, performing some of their legendary hits like ‘Fine Time’ and ‘Alright.’

Their debut album ‘All Change’ released in 1995 became the highest selling debut album for their label, and a further three albums followed before the band decided to split in 2001. The band reformed in 2012, releasing their fifth album ‘Troubled Times’ in November 2011, and recently released a brand new single ‘Paper Chains’ in February this year.

In December 2015 and February earlier this year, Cast celebrated the 20th anniversary of their album 'All Change’, with two sold out shows at the historic Liverpool Philharmonic Hall where they played the record in its entirety accompanied by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Alabama 3 Acoustic will be performing a strictly acoustic set on Saturday night in the Rhythm Tent, before headliner Tom Clarke, who will also be performing an acoustic set. The four-piece outfit will play many of the songs that made Alabama 3 famous, bringing a whole new dimension to their classic musical back catalogue.

Alabama 3 released an acoustic album in February 2011, ‘There Will Be Peace In the Valley… When We Get To The Mansion On The Hill”, and this marked the start of Alabama 3 Acoustic, a new outfit and their first time recording acoustically.

The two groups will join Mallory Knox, The Stranglers, Example & DJ Wire, The Darkness and Tom Clarke at Godiva Festival, with many more additions to the line up to follow.
