Coventry will be one of 14 cities chosen to host an HSBC UK City Ride this summer.
The traffic-free cycle ride will take place on Sunday 17 September through the streets of Coventry and will allow people of all ages and abilities to take part.
The event continues the City Council’s partnership with British Cycling and with sponsorship from HSBC UK, the aim is to get even more people cycling.
Lord Mayor, Councillor Lindsley Harvard, said: ““We’re delighted that Coventry has been chosen to host a new City Ride. We look forward to the event, which we hope will encourage people to visit our city and take part in a free, healthy activity.”
Global Head of sponsorship and events at HSBC, Giles Morgan, said: “Our partnership with British Cycling is all about ensuring that anyone, anywhere in the UK has the opportunity and inspiration to get on their bike, whether that’s for travel, fitness or fun.
