Published Wednesday, 10 May 2017

New travel bursaries available for 2017-18 for visits to Coventry Transport Museum and the Herbert Plus win a visit to the V&A in London

We are pleased to announce further funding for travel bursaries for visits to Coventry Museums made before the end of March 2018.

Bring your pupils to Coventry Transport Museum and/or the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum for two learning sessions and receive up to £200 towards your travel costs*.

Explore the legend of Lady Godiva, imagine what it was like to ride on a bone shaker or take inspiration from our diverse collection of art.  We have a variety of learning sessions available covering art, history, literacy and STEM subjects, including new storytelling sessions for foundation and year 1 and highlights tours for key stages 3, 4  and 5. The two museums are a short walk from each other and can both be visited on the same day.

Sessions can be tailored to include our exciting temporary exhibitions, including the forthcoming Fearsome Craftsmen exhibition about the Vikings!

Plus all schools that visit as part of this offer before the end of December 2017 will be entered into a prize draw to win an  all-expenses paid trip to the V&A in London, including two learning sessions and coach travel.

‘Increased teacher confidence and knowledge. Increased pupil knowledge and skills. A brilliant session - great hands-on ending - knowledgeable staff, I want to book again for another day’

‘The content was very appropriate, linking to our school topic. Well delivered and a mix of PowerPoint and demonstration. It was a good starting point for our learning a 'WOW' day.’
